Performance
For Grupo PIE, performance is a laboratory of liminal experiences where the artist's body inhabits the border between the analog and the digital. We don't understand technology as ornamentation, but rather as an extension of biology and movement, exploring the tension that arises at the intersection of these dimensions.
Our research in this area focuses on two axes of exploration:
Body and Interactive Devices: We investigate the use of sensors and artificial vision systems so that gesture and dance become generators of sound and visual environments. In these pieces, the performer engages in dialogue with a digital ecosystem that reacts to their presence, pulse, and movement.
Research in Movement and New Media: We develop actions that explore the spectator's sensory perception, using technology to expand time and stage space. These are experimental pieces that seek new poetics of the body in hybrid environments.
Through this exploration, the group proposes a critical and aesthetic perspective on the human-machine relationship, taking performance to avant-garde spaces where live art is redefined through code and interactivity.
